Testing of Potassium in Biofertilizers and Feeds

Potassium is one of the essential elements for life on earth. Potassium plays a vital role in enhancing the resistance of plants to drought, frost, high light, pests, and diseases caused by external factors. Potassium is essential for maintaining electrolyte balance, acid-base balance, water balance, and osmotic pressure in animal organisms. It affects the animal's absorption, growth, stress resistance, and muscle and nerve capacity.

Potassium in fertilizers

All plants and animals require large amounts of potassium. Therefore, it is important to test the potassium content in biofertilizers and organic feeds. Lifeasible provides our customers with potassium testing services for organic feeds and biofertilizers using a variety of methods to support the formulation and improvement of biofertilizers and organic feeds. We can help you conduct livestock breeding, plant cultivation, and related research more efficiently and cost-effectively.

Methods Description
Hydride reaction method We can use this method to measure the potassium content in biofertilizer and organic feed samples. It is fast and efficient, all operations are easy, and it meets the practical needs in terms of accuracy and precision.
Graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry The operation process is relatively simple and has a high degree of safety and sensitivity. Compared with the traditional flame atomic spectrometry, the sample volume is smaller, and we can adjust the atomization temperature according to the actual situation.
Flame atomic absorption spectrometry Compared to other atomic absorption spectroscopy methods, this method has the greatest advantage of low cost and high reproducibility. At the same time, its operability is relatively strong, and the detection speed is relatively fast, which can meet the basic detection needs.
Selective electrode method We have also developed a method for rapid detection of potassium content in feed and fertilizer using potassium ion-selective electrodes Through the steps of potassium ion standard solution preparation, standard curve plotting, sample pretreatment, and potentiometric determination of potassium ion in the sample solution to be tested, we can calculate the potassium content in the sample to be tested.
Ion chromatography (IC) The detection data are realistic and less biased. We use the IC method to determine potassium by preparing the required stock solution for quantification, sample analysis, and data processing. The correlation coefficients were greater than 0.995, the limits of detection were 0.011-0.021 ppm, and the limits of quantification were 0.042-0.086 ppm. The recoveries of the samples spiked were 94.8%-103.0%. Compared with conventional analytical methods, the method we provide has the advantages of easy sample handling, fast analysis, high sensitivity and accuracy, good reproducibility, and no contamination. It is suitable for the rapid determination of potassium in bulk samples.

Our advantages

  • Short detection time. The time required is only 5-20 minutes.
  • High accuracy. Completely satisfied with the ion composition based on the sieve separation.
  • High stability. High stability of the separation column during the sieving process.
  • Wide range of detection. In addition to solid samples, we can also detect liquid and gaseous samples with high accuracy.

By using various methods, Lifeasible can provide you with a complete, accurate, and timely service for the analysis of potassium in biofertilizer and organic feed samples. Please feel free to contact us for your customized testing solution.
